THE report that prompted Federal Government intervention at Kirralee Nursing Home will not be made public for at least the next two weeks. The report stems from a July 18 visit by Aged Care Standards and Accreditation Agency assessors, and details the 33 of 44 areas of care the home failed in. Accreditation agency spokesman Chris Falvey said Kirralee management had been provided with the report, and under legislation it will not be made public until it is decided whether the nursing home should be stripped of its accreditation. "At this point the report is the observations and evidence from the assessors," he said. "Legislation provides we can't publish the report where the management can still make their own submission and appeal the recommendations." Mr Falvey said the home was being visited daily by authorities to ensure it was improving five areas where patients were deemed to be at "serious risk" of harm. Source: The Courier Newer articles:
